1967 File Copy New York Post Teen Talk "Interview" - Personally Autographed to YOU by Mark
This is an original May 1967 file copy of an interview that supposedly took place with Mark Lindsay by the Teen Talk columnist for the New York Post. To be clear, this copy (8-1/2" x 11") was created and filed in 1967 by the Raiders' publicity clipping service, and is a 56 year old document.
The article has some correct biographical information about Mark, but he does not recall speaking with this reporter, and many of the quotes don't "sound" like him, especially its focus on fame and fortune. He would have mentioned more about music, both recording it and writing it with Terry Melcher, and certainly about his new Ferrari.
Despite owning half of the Raiders and its production company, to this day Mark has been unable to get most of the financial details of the Raider years from the accountants and attorneys who handled it, or from Paul Revere. What little information he was finally able to get years later showed large "discrepancies" and is what precipitated a lawsuit with various parties in the 90s. In any event, since he has zero idea what his income was at that time, he wouldn't have made a statement about earnings that's in the article.
His best guess is that the interview was a written one, with Derek Taylor overseeing it and Revere adding quotes, with no knowledge on his part that it was being "conducted."
Mark will PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPH the page in ink to the name of your choice, with the notation "not really from me!"
