Vintage 1968/69 CINDERELLA SUNSHINE Copyright Confusion Typewritten Documents + Card - Personally Autographed to YOU by Mark
This is a set of 5 typewritten pages relating to a copyright confusion with the registration of CINDERELLA SUNSHINE, one of the Raiders' singles which Mark wrote, and which was published by his music publishing company, Boom Music. The set includes:
- 9/5/68 carbon copy of a letter to the Copyright Office accompanying the registration, from a secretary for Boom's attorney
- 12/31/68 original letter from the Copyright Office documenting confusion over which arrangement(s) are being copyrighted
- 3/12/69 original follow-up letter from the Copyright Office (2 pages) regarding lack of reply and further explanation of the problem
- 4/10/69 carbon copy of a letter to Copyright Office from the Raiders' new secretary Bunny Baran.
In late 1968, the head of the law firm that handled the Raiders' business, Jerry Rosenthal, got in BIG trouble when Doris Day (and other clients) discovered he had stolen millions from them. The Raiders switched to another firm, and hired Bunny as their secretary to do some of the work the Rosenthal firm had been handling.
We'll also include Mark's 4" x 6" logo card shown below, which he'll PERSONALLY AUTOGRAPH to the name of your choice with the phrase "Cinderella Sinshine Copyright Confusion." (Note: the "marklindsay.com" watermarks do not appear on the autographed piece.)
